History

In 1992, four couples led by Pastor Roma Hosking started meeting together to pray about planting a church in the Gungahlin area. Public meetings commenced in May 1993 and were held in Pastor Hosking’s home in Palmerston. Cornerstone soon outgrew this venue and in 1996 moved to meet at Palmerston Primary School.

Roma Hosking concluded her time as the inaugural Pastor of Cornerstone in December 2003 after a very successful ministry in planting and establishing the church. Pastor Rod Holmes was then Pastor of Cornerstone from January 2004 through to April 2008. The main focus of Pastor Holmes’ ministry was worship and encouraging the congregation to bring Jesus to the community through their work places, hobbies and interests.

Currently, Cornerstone Christian Church is led by a team of four Elders and our church family is committed to loving and supporting one another and sharing our experiences of Jesus with others. The church comprises a diverse range of people including families, singles and mature-aged people.

Cornerstone is a great place to get to know others, to get involved in ministry in ways consistent with your individual gifting and abilities and to grow in the love of Jesus to become all that he intends you to be. Cornerstone is a family, a place to call home.
